A Ministry Like No Other

The Goodwin’s (affectionately known as “Dad and Mom”) lived a life of faith before God for many years, their lives a testimony to His faithfulness to His servants. After Rev. J. R. Goodwin resigned from his position as Assistant Chief Engineer at Sunshine Biscuit Company in 1936, they spent the next few years pastoring in small Assembly of God churches in the Texas Panhandle, and central & east Texas, eventually assuming the pastorate at First Assembly of God in Pasadena, TX, where they remained for  more than twenty-one years. After retiring from First Assembly, the Goodwin’s moved to Longview, TX, to help a former parishioner establish a church, Glenwood Chapel. They also travelled and ministered across the country until his death in April, 1979. Mom Goodwin moved first to Houston, TX, then to Tulsa, OK, where she lived until her death in 1994.

This website is dedicated to preserving as much as is possible both the teaching ministry and the many examples of their sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
